Obviously, some way of stating the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, etc...) should find its way into the mission statement. The church, any church professing to worship Jesus Christ, should be going about fulfilling the Great Commission that Jesus has given to us.

Well, I guess I'll be the first to jump in with my ideas. So here they are.

Something about "SEEDS", such as:

Plant the seeds, nurture the seeds, let God do the rest.

and/or

S hare the Gospel
E ducate through Bible based teaching.
E ncourage and inspire with Christian love.
D evelop disciples.
S erve the community.

I am completely open to other ideas.

See you all soon,
Nita

After rereading that, I want to change the first S to read:

S hare the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am anxious to hear everyone else's inspirations and ideas.

That is a good idea. There are a lot of verbs in there, which make for a good mission statement.
Remember, we can borrow ideas from other churches to look at as well. We will just need to prayerfully shaoe the statement to meet the unique location and mission in Poolville.

Looking for some ideas I found www.missionstatements.com and click on church. There are tons of examples from other churches. It also lists the address of the churches. I wonder about the community those churches are located in and if any are similar to Poolville?
